“Developing an Orchid Collection!”
I’m excited to invite you to our September meeting on Wednesday, September 17th at 8:00 PM in the Hibiscus Gallery at Pinecrest Gardens. The Hibiscus Gallery is always such a beautiful place to gather, and I know this month will be extra special. Make sure to bring in your beautiful Orchids for Judging starting at 7:30pm. Plant registration is between 7:00pm and 7:30pm. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, no plants will be accepted for judging after 7:30pm.
Dr. Juraj Kojš
Our guest speaker will be Dr. Juraj Kojš, an AOS judge, professor, and true orchid lover. His talk, “Developing an Orchid Collection,” will give us practical tips and fresh inspiration. I’m grateful to Dr. Martin Rivas, our newest Board Member, for arranging such a wonderful program.
September is also the last month to sign up to volunteer at the Redland International Orchid Festival. Each volunteer earns SFOS a $65 donation, and you get to spend the day surrounded by orchids from around the world.
And of course, I’d love for everyone to bring along a favorite orchid tip or trick to share.
It’s the little exchanges of knowledge that make our meetings so rich.
I can’t wait to see you all on September 17th. Together, we’re not just growing orchids—we’re growing friendships, too.
